About Singapore
Located in Southeast Asia, Singapore has a land area of about 710 square kilometers, making it geographically one of the smallest countries in the world. Although small in size, Singapore commands an enormous presence on the world stage with its free trade economy and highly efficient workforce. Singapore’s strategic location in the region has enabled it to become a central sea port along major shipping routes.
In addition, Singapore is a bustling cosmopolitan city that offers a world-class living environment, with an open urban landscape that is populated by both high-rise buildings and gardens. The city is known to bring together an interesting collage of cultures, where people of different ethnicities and beliefs coexist. Singapore’s society represents various ethnicities that live together in harmony: Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian; resulting in a range of cultural, religious, culinary, and linguistic experiences.
